~Residents utilizing public shelter spaces are instructed to bring medications, blankets, special dietary foods/formulas, and a supply of food for personal consumption.

~Dog and Cats will be accepted for people staying in the shelter. Bring pets supplies.

Village staff has done everything possible to prepare for the storm and are now in the process of preparing for the aftermath or cleanup. Mayor Lexo has signed a State of Emergency Declaration which becomes effective at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12th.

      Yard Waste and Recycling

Trash schedule: Week of September 17, 2018.
TUESDAY: We will pick up household trash for Monday and Tuesday on Tuesday
WEDNESDAY:Yard waste will be picked up Wednesday
THURSDAY: Recycling will be picked up on Thursday
The trash crews will keep working Friday and into the weekend until they have everything picked up.

Our Public Works Department will pick up storm debris that is too large for our contractor to pick up, where possible.  Please leave any storm debris in the right of way (not in the road) and they will pick it up as soon as possible.

Clarification for tomorrow’s yard debris pick up: yard debris must be placed as normal in containers or bundles. Items that are too large for normal pickup, may be placed street side for pick up by Public Works over the coming weeks. DO NOT pile all yard debris by the street – only items that are too large for normal pick up.

      FAQs

      Boats during Florence
Village Hall has received many calls from lake front residents who are concerned about their boats with the approaching storm. We have decided to allow residents, who would like to trailer their boats during the storm, to park them in their driveways until the storm passes. If your driveway will not accommodate your boat, we will allow parking, at the owners risk, in the field between the Fire Rescue Department and the Public Works building - not the field next to the PD where the concerts are held. Please contact Village Hall with questions. 910-949-3141
