Parks, Lakes and Noise
Posted on Friday July 19, 2019

The weather this weekend is predicted to be extremely HOT. The above normal temperatures will draw more people out to our Village lakes. Please remember that the use of Village lakes is reserved for Village residents or property owners only and is monitored and enforced by the WPPD. Village Administration would also like to remind all residents of our noise ordinances.

Village Hall has received several complaints pertaining to loud, and in some cases very disrespectful or offensive, music / language within the parks and on the lakes. Music and conversations from people on boats and on the shore is amplified across the lake. PLEASE be respectful of your fellow residents and their children who are also trying to enjoy the lakes.

Chapter F, Article II of the Whispering Pines Code of Ordinances states:
Section 1.  Noises Regulated
The creation, production or emission of any loud noise, amplified speech, music, or other sounds that tend to annoy, disturb or frighten anyone within the Village is hereby prohibited.  Specifically, prohibited acts under this Ordinance include, but are not limited to, the following:

Radios, Phonographs, Television, Etc.
The playing of any radio, phonograph, television or any musical instrument in such a manner or with such volume, particularly during the hours between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am, as to annoy or disturb the quiet, comfort, or repose of any resident.
