Phone Scam Exploiting Fallen Officers

The Whispering Pines Police Department are warning residents of a telephone scam involving callers who claim to be collecting donations for the families of fallen police officers.  The callers have even offered to come in person and collect the money.  The Aberdeen Police Department are investigating several calls, which reportedly came from the number 910-505-9902, and appear to be from the Aberdeen area.  No suspects have been identified at this time. 

Be advised that the Whispering Pines Police Department will never ask for donations by phone.  If you are a Whispering Pines resident and receive such a call please contact us.

In an effort to keep our residents better informed, the Village of Whispering Pines is utilizing a new notification system, CodeRed.
